Luna: Crater Schickard, South West quadrant. Apparent size: 121.81 arcsec

Named for Wilhelm Schickard

17th century German mathematician and astronomer.

The crater was near the terminator this morning and very prominent, I had intended to sketch another crater but this was so beautiful I couldn't help but select it smile.gif

White pastel, white and black charcoal on black pastel paper. Blending with a Q-tip and fingers.

10/29/2020 0345-0430 hrs. Eastern time.

Location: Cape Coral, Florida. 77 deg. F and 91% humidity

C9.25, 16mm ep with a 2x barlow for 294x

Very fine sketch! I would bet given your location that the seeing was superb.
Clear skies Trent!

Seriously, nice sketch!

Now that's funny! Durer is one of the few classical artists I can name by work - and my favorite I might add. I saw some of his work in the Alte Pinakothek in Munich Germany a couple of years ago, it was the highlight of the trip for me. My wife and son were somewhat less impressed to say the least.

That sounds great - I should have gone there the day I was in Munich (10+ years ago), wish I'd known.
