My 1956 Nippon Kogaku 50mm is in such excellent condition and so rare, I'm very reluctant to take it out to use for fear of banging it up.  But it is a fantastic scope.

I knew one guy who bought a TeleVue Renaissance and refused to take it out to use it out of fear of hurting the tube. 

My 102 & 85 Renaissances, nicely polished OTAs now, are fair weather scopes. Took a lot of Brasso.
