SDO/HMI continuum and magnetogram images of a hugh 32 arcsec

sun spot at S22 on the emerging limb on 11/22/20 at 0829 UT.

That is big.

Had to dig the biggest sunspot (of known history) and found out that in 1947 AR 14886 was about the size of Jupiter (or about 50 arc seconds).

become  AR12785.

SDO/HMI continuum update image of the 32 arcsec

sun spot  followed by a 70 arcsec MONSTER sun spot

at S22 on 11/23/20 at 1223 UT.  The smaller sun spot

is AR12785 and the large one is AR12786.

Thanks for the detailed information. I had a look at this from Central Florida this morning through a 127mm binocular telescope using white light filters. Quite impressive
