Earlier this year I acquired a late 1980's AP 6" f12 refractor.

Included with the telescope was this 80mm finder scope, which has no markings to indicate brand. I know the bracket is an old Losmandy and I added the Williams diagonal.

Can anyone tell me who made the finder scope? The only thing that comes to mind is maybe somthing Astronomics sold from that time period.

Thanks,

Steve

Tuthill sold one like it but I recall the 80mm I had from Rodger had a common 'crinkle/bino' texture to the covering. This pic is from 1980 or so but you can see the tuthill finder on my scope

I had a few of them 50 and 80mm. Mine were all smooth and some were red.

Gary Russell (Russell Eyepieces) used to sell a finder like that. He still sells an objective and body so you can complete a similar 70mm super-finder yourself.
