Hello folks,
I am going to try using Sharpcap with my mono cooled camera to grab a bunch of frames of the moon via video. Can somebody who has done this before give me some recommended settings to use? (such as gain, bit depth, etc) Should I be trying to grab frames as fast as possible (> 20 fps) with short exposure, or it doesn't matter that much? My understanding is that the sensor takes on the order of 1/20th second to read out the image anyway (rolling shutter), or maybe faster if I only select a limited area. So no matter what there is going to be shimmering in all the frames captured.
I'll either end up using my 600mm FL camera lens, or 760mm newtonian.
