...practicing for the Star of Bethlehem conjunction later.  Set up in daylight, very rough polar align, then drift align by our nearest star.

 

So, once you've done that, might as well take a shot huh?

WO Star 71, QHY 183M, Baader Astro Solar, Astronomik Pro Planet 742.  Stacked in AS3! best 5% of 2000 frames, sharpened and colored in PI, downsized to fit posting requirements.

 

Pretty happy for only 3" of glass.

Thanks all, I really didn't intend on taking a capture, 354 mm focal length isn't optimal.  Normally I'd put the camera on my 127 Mak but I was too lazy to move the camera and have to retake flats when I moved it back to the Star71.  Future plans include a 180 Mak and a dedicated planetary camera.  This is my deep sky setup, focusing in the daylight looking at a laptop with a rubylith screen was 'interesting'...
