Are older canons likey to be any good if at around the 40 buck mark ?

I have the 7x35 sibling of that one and it is a very well made binocular.

Well regarded bino. I had 2x of the Canon 7x50s, the earlier 7.2 version and the later 7.1 version. Well built with large prism housing. Obviously they are the single coated lens so expect internal reflections and a limited light transmission. Still, if internally clean they will give a good sharp to edge image with limited distortions, almost to Nikon Tropical 7x50 quality.

These are 40 + year old vintage binoculars so don't expect binocular excellence and just make sure they are well collimated and fungus free.
