Is the 104 likely going to be the Long perng 104 triplet with two ED elements + a reducer to get f/4.9?

My bet is that it will be a 180mm f/7 triplet. f/7 to keep the length reasonable and a triplet to make it work with glass types you can actually get and pay for on a normal budget.

Clear skies!

Hello All ,

i guess i have to find another country to make that new Apo.

On Order of the US Goverment your US customs started finaly to hit any product made in China by a 25 % penalty.

It does not matter if it ship from China to USA or first to Germany. Your customs take the time now to check via google where products are made.

Some single shipments still pass your customs without this 25 % , but more and more of our dealers report us about this charge.

I see on the binocular forum that some people already noticed the price change at the Lunt , all others have to follow.

Don Pensack lost on his last big eyepiece shipment all profit due this unexpected extra exoenses.

That business trade fight between the countrys reach now our all pocket

sorry for that

Other vendors have put prices up, will APM follow given the cost of shipping has gone 8-10x?

If so when and how much?

Will orders placed now be honoured?

Hello

in germany our prices going up a bit starting 1. March . A few prices are up already, but we talk here about 5 to 10 % , since we still have good rates and we buy much at once to keep the average shipping under control.

till last year autum average airfreight was about 3 % of the product price. Today we are between 10 and 20 % , depending on the volume of the shipment. The suppliers are all heavy delayed , so we need to take more often smaller shipments which cost more like 20 % shipping.

For our US sales the chinese 25 % customs penalty making now all very expensive

Are we starting to see a situation, where it will be profitable to return the production to Europe/USA?

Clear skies!

That is exactly the reason for these punitive tariffs

I know, but are we there yet? Could you right now make scopes in Europe (or maybe Russia?) for the market segment the china scopes used to fill?

It seems that there are companies able to do so. Gemini has come out with a new mount that is bigger than the EQ-8, but costs the same.

Clear skies!

Hi Thomas

no we could not come even close

see for sample Docter 12.5 mm eyepiece 750 Euro, our clone 295 Euro, ad 25 % and we are at 368 euro, still less then half

chinese cheap prices also living from mass production , tell me which european company could make 100,200,500 pc apos a year of 1 model and produce many models.

If you buy the Gemini mount with all what is included in the EQ8 , than you are more expensive than EQ8 and the EQ8 hold in fact a lot more
