Before using the binoculars, hold them upright in front of you and see the underside of them. So you can easily adjust the interpupillary distance and focus. For the interpupillary distance there are lines at 60, 65 and 70 mm, similar to the Zeiss EDF 7x40 or Zeiss / Docter 7x40 B / GA.

Here is an example photo of the Nobilem 7x50 B.

Yep... I always knew that those IPD indicators were there... just as they are on almost all halfway-decent binoculars. For some reason, I'd just never noticed that on the Docters, the infinity indicators were there, too. But then, I actually never use the IPD markers... so it's extremely rare for me look at the underside of the binoculars. I always adjust the IPD while looking through them.  grin.gif

I've been intrigued by the Docter Aspectem 40x80 ED.  It's available for order in Japan, despite Doctor/Noblex the parent company no longer being around  or having been sold to some Chinese entity.  Is this true or have I misinterpreted something?

I don't actually have any intention to buy the Doctor Aspectem as I already have the Kowa Highlander Promninar with all three sets of eyepieces.   I'm more interested in the Doctor 12.5mm 84-deg eyepiece but can't seem to figure out where to buy it.

Thank you.

I don't know of any dealer who still sells them.

I have the last Docter UWA, my winning bet in the Noblex auction.

It looks like, the new products under development will follow the E-vision line.

Best,

JG

Apologies in advance for my ignorance.  Is the company still around and developing a new line of products?

No apologies needed, please,

as nobody knows for sure what they are really doing, or trying to do, or will be doing.

The E-optics, and/or some tactical optics, is one of the possibilities,

as you can make much more money with the E-optics,

than with just making a "salade" of the glass lenses.

Best,

JG
