Good afternoon.  We have received a Polaroscope 114E as a donation to the non-profit where I volunteer.  I don't know anything about telescopes and I haven't had much luck finding anything out about this make and model except for an earlier post on your website.  Can anybody help me figure out a value on this?  I'm attaching a few pictures and I hope this helps out.

Thanks for any guidance that you can give!

It looks a lot like a Monolux 4380 I used to have that was made by Astro Optical. The main difference is that what is grey on your OTA was smooth satin black on mine. It was a very good scope. I bet yours is too! Congratulations.

I was thinking the same. It looks much like my monolux.

Similar to my Polaroscope 60x910, same box but different badge on the focusser. There have been a couple of threads lately about that model. Some are made by Eikow, others like mine have a Yamatar objective and Carton focusser.

Are you in Canada? Most Polaroscopes seem to turn up here.

Here's another one that was posted last week: https://www.cloudyni...r-north-canada/

Yes, it looks like one of the Eikow stable that the last poster linked to a recent thread on - those triangular chain connectors on the tripod spreader/locker are just another aspect on top of everything else.

as an owner of that scope model, i would be really grateful if you scanned that owner's manual and either posted it here, or sent me a copy by email.  i have sent you a private message.

i paid c$150 for mine.  it looks to be in better shape than yours but had only one eyepiece and is missing a diagonal.  i consider that a good to fair price.  you may get more selling it in the classifieds here.

Thank you everybody for the information!  We will be selling the telescope.  The group that I volunteer with is called Castaway Kids and we have a thrift store down here in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico.  So, who knows how it ended up here!?  I think that we will try to sell the telescope first at our thrift store but if there are no takers down here we might be able to bring it up to Phoenix when the border opens for us (we're Canadian) or even up to Canada (whenever we're able to do that again).  I think that we will put a price of $100 US on it and see what happens.  I appreciate all of your help.

I will post the Instruction Manual as soon as I can figure out how to save it in as a version that is small enough to post here.

If anybody would like copies of these manuals I can also send them to you by email or PM (now that I've figured out how to do it).

Must have been a Snowbird's scope, Even the manuals have references to Canada in them.

This may be the correct manual for your Eikow.
