Hello. I deforked my 10” Sct LX200gps and will be mounting it to the EQ6-R Pro. It has the Meade electronic Micro Focuser. Is there a way to use this when installed on the new Mount? If not, what’s the recommendations for a focuser? Thanks

Meade used to make a Hand Controller that the #1209 microfocuser's curly lead plugged into.

If you can't find a pre-owned one, you'll have to DIY:

9V DC PP9 battery

100 Ohm variable resistor for speed control

Wire to a DPDT switch to change direction

1/8" Stereo Jack Socket for the curly lead to plug into - Tip and Sleeve wired, Ring not connected.

Check with Shoestring Astronomy, I think they still make a controller for the external unit.

Thank you both. I’ll look into both options.

I forgot the DPDT switch needs to be Momentary, so that focus change is not continuous when you throw the switch, only changes while you move the switch.

Michael, I’m go to use both ideas. You wouldn’t happen to have a link to a diagram would you? I’m not savvy in this area.

Thank you very much for this info. My EQ6r Pro is now mounted with my scope and I got my power supply yesterday. Powered up and ran it through its paces. Once I get my micro focus taken care of, it’ll be ready for some observation.

The 1/8" Stereo Plug in my diagram should of course be a Socket, the Plug is on the curly lead.
