Howdy,

Have the granddaughters staying with us so this was all very rushed, but had to do something as the Sun was shining!  Managed to grab some data between UT 2021/01/12 21.31 & 2021/01/12 22.45.  Nothing overly exciting on the disc but there are a few nice proms.  The animation was over 30minutes at 30second intervals, had some scud cloud go through a few times so had to delete 20% of those images.

Lunt 60mm, single stack, PT, ZWO174mm. SharpCap 3.2, AutoStakkert 3, IMPPG. Animated using GIMP. Disc exposures were 3.75ms & set at 110gain.

Thanks for looking

Thanks indeed James. Yes! absolutely amazing in a 60mm for sure!  Geez how I wish I could have bought an 80mm. I have the double stack also and will do some more experimenting soon.

Thanks Warren,

Here is a link which I hope will work for the animation through my public Dropbox https://www.dropbox....stProm.gif?dl=0

If you could let me know if this works I would be grateful.

Yep, works fine. A lot of action at the top of the image. Would be interested to see this with the disk blacked out and the proms in normal mode rather than inverted.

Thanks Chuck, I am having fun for sure! 11 year old thought it looked pretty cool (I told her it was hot) and the 5 year old loves space and astro.... well like her sister she has been looking through various scopes for a while now. Her comment was "pa why do you have so many telescopes"... agreed but they are smaller ones!

Thanks Mike, I never really took as much notice of cloud in the morning as I do now. Most of December and January have been cloudy in the mornings on the coast, some lovely clear afternoons but Sun is too hot and difficult position for my setup.

You know I just have a granddaughter she turns 14 in a month or so.  Gave her a real microscope a few years ago. Now she seems like a natural science goddess,  it is great.  Can't wait for her to turn 16.
