I have been watching Youtube during cloudy nights (no pun intended) and there were some videos that shows GEM mounts can be controlled with Stellarium software.  I have version 20.  What do I have to do to get this to work for me or does Ioptron not interface with Stellarium?   My mount is a CEM 40 and an 8" RC scope.  I know that Ioptron's Commander control software works, but can Stellarium control the mount through this package?  I need instructions on how this is done or if it can be done.  Help and thank you in advance.

I use Commander to Stellarium and other programs via POTH.  Works fine.

OK, DAW316, now tell me first, what does POTH mean and what procedure do you use in attaching the mount to Stellarium.  I start to run Commander before I use Stellarium, but the programs just don't like each other.  There is no communication between them.  Can you explain in detail how you go about using Stellarium and my CEM 40 mount?  RFB

POTH:

https://ascom-standa...g/FAQs/POTH.htm

I use POTH with Windows XP and Windows 7

I run Stellarium 20.4

step 1 Turn on CEM25

2 start stellarium (set up to auto connect to scope at start up)

3 stellarium starts POTH and commander

4 On POTH virtual handset, click 'connect scope'

5 it works
