We have 3 telescopes that can be computer controlled, but we’ve never done that. I’m trying to make our observing (occultation timings) easier, so I decided to learn how to control them via a computer. I started with the NexStar 127 SLT. The computer (Win10 Dell) recognizes that a USB device has attached but says it needs a driver. I don’t remember a CD with software coming with the telescope, but it was in 2019 and we may have lost the CD. I didn’t find a driver on the Celestron site. Nothing about drivers is mentioned in the user guide. I asked a question on the technical help section of the Celestron site and haven’t gotten an answer. I thought it might be a problem with the cable, but haven’t been able to find a replacement. The 127 SLT connects with a USB cable with a mini plug; all the other SLT’s use a RS-232 cable. Suggestions on how to solve this much appreciated.

If it is similar to Nexstar SE series or Evolution etc, you are probably missing a serial to USB adapter driver.
Celestren don't supply cable or driver with any. If ypu bought (say) a Trendnet serial to USB adapter cable then it would be supplied with the driver. However, more recent Celestron models now have the adapter inside the hand controller, so you only need USB to USB cable, but you still need a driver.
This is likely to be a Prolific PL2303 driver, but guidance for your specific model might be listed on Mike Swansons Nexstar Resource website.

Specifically, this section (which includes the USB drivers in the yellow box on the right):

Got the driver and ordered the NexStar User's Guide, both of which I expect to be very useful. Thank you for the advice!
