It was there yesterday, but when I opened Pixinsight today, my WBPP script has disappeared.   I even uninstalled and reinstalled the software, but it's still missing. Has this happened to anyone else, or is it just me?  And more importantly, how to I fix this??

my WBPP script has disappeared.

Are you sure you're looking in the right place?  WBPP is not a script, it's a process.  Previously, BPP (without the "W") was a script, but that was removed.

*** EDIT ***

Ooops!  Never mind!  I was thinking about a different process.  Senior moment! tongue2.gif

Creed,

It's there for me on my iMac. I also ran an update yesterday for PixelMath, and looks like another update for PixelMath but still there.

I checked the processes, and don't see it there either.  I could have sworn it was at the bottom of the Batch Processing drop down menu.

(Great! now you can do calibration and understand it better. Forget about the script! Just calibrate. :) )

Try and ask on the PI forums they will surely be able to help you out.

Umm...? WBPP is most certainly a script. As is BPP.

I know how to do it manually, I didn't want to commit the time this morning.  I just want to tinker with some post-calibration and stacking processing techniques today.

Good call on the PI forums, I guess I'll register and post one on there.

Make sure you use the same email address you used for your PI license... or they'll reject you. I found that out when I tried registering with the same username/email I use here... which was different than the email I used to purchase my PI license.

Happens to all of us :). It certainly made me look at PI to see if they'd just changed it from a script to a process, though!

I'm in moderator purgatory now at the PI forum.  I'm losing my available time this morning for playing around on Pixinsight.  I have a 4 year old and work from home- these windows of time are hard to come by.

I reinstalled the software and it still didn't appear on the menu, so I decided to REALLY reinstall it by uninstalling and doing a restart before reinstalling (that is about the limit of my troubleshooting's sophistication- short of just hitting my computer).

As it was uninstalling, a prompt came up to install new updates (which I was already prompted to do with the new download).  I let it do that, and presto.

How the heck does a piece of software break overnight???

I had exactly the same problem--Script/Batch Processing/WBPP disappeared a few days ago. On your advice, I started the uninstall of Pixinsight (Windows 10). The Pixinsight dialog window popped up and I selected "repair". It copied a bunch of files. Then I started Pixinsight, agreed to the updates, restarted pixinsight, and all's well. WBPP is back.

I agree with the original post -- I too lost the weighted batch preprocessing script (from the script directory), and am not sure how.   I did the various obvious steps (restart PI, use settings > uninstall ... > dialog "repair", etc) but not successful.  In the end, did a complete uninstall, go into appdata and remove various folders, and complete install from scratch.  This requires a reissue of license keys from pixinsight (automated process).  Whether this level of delete/reinstall was required, I can not be sure, but it did work.

Said by all programmers everywhere at some point... :-) Possibly something unrelated in your operating system. Or gremlins. Oh yeah, and that old favorite, a security update.
