One of my personal favorite of the winter's open clusters. It's density kinda puts me in mind of ngc 2158. This drawing is from last winter/spring with the c11 in my backyard (bortle 4.9).From our club's site at a members ranch(bortle 3.5) this cluster just 'pops' with small stars.Mix in the brighter field stars and you have a hit for any group of viewers.Drawn with hb and 2b pencils, kneaded eraser and 80 lb drawing paper, inverted on my computer.

Beautiful. I think the vignetting effect that you use brings out the ethereality of the subjects that you sketch. I like it a lot.

Michael,
Yes this is a nice one and high in the sky of the northern hemisphere at a decent hour.
Very nice sketch capturing it.

Nice sketch, of NGC 2141.
I also like NGC 2194, its similar to NGC 2141, but a little brighter.

I went and checked my sketch of 2194 (thanks for the reminder) and though I didn't show an unresolved background glow I did show a really handsome, immediate, surrounding fov with a number of small stars packed tightly around the brighter core stars.I bet I would have gone through this observing season without thinking about 94 if you hadn't mentioned it

I will be adding this to my observing list, along with NGC 2169 and 2194
