[Coconuts]

I have a website that includes a graphical plot of moonrise and moonset for the year, together with its phases.  The plot is interesting; here is what it looked like for 2020:

 

 

At the site, hovering shows the details for any given day.  Well, in previous years I used what was a great site at the US Naval Observatory, which allowed me to download a full year of moonrise and moonset times for any location on Earth in an Excel or .txt format.  Awesome.

 

But that site:

is now broken.  Its redirect (http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/) produces a "server not found" error.

 

I really don't want to manually type in 730 entries.  Does anyone know of a site that will allow you to download a table of moonrise and moonset times?  A full year (2021) would be great, but even month by month would be a massive time saver.

I'm familiar with Time and Date, but I see no option to download the data, merely to display it.  I need downloadable data to put into a spreadsheet and give to my website developer.  As per my OP, 730 manual entries every year is somthing I would really like to avoid.

If you give timeanddate your zip, it displays a table. If you select this table, you can copy and paste the data into a spreadsheet. It will take 12 tries because you need one for each month, but beats the 730 entries you mention.

 

Time and Date also offers an API to download lots of different kinds of time and date data even, sun and moon information. You have to pay for this, but can get 3 months for free. If your developer understands web APIs, he could try the free account, get several years worth of data and bundle it into your site. Alternately you could pay for the service.

There is also the JPL HORIZONS system which is for solar system bodies including the moon. You will have to dig into it a bit to figure out how to set up your query, but you should be able to get rise and set times for lat and long.
