Well I thought I'd be able to pull some IFN out of this, at least that was the plan, but I underestimated the amount of haze I'd be shooting through. Maybe it sits a little to low for that. At least I burned enough wood to to double my carbon footprint for the year as temperatures were in the minus twenties ©. Decided to leave the IFN in the dark where it belongs in order to avoid a super noisy image and in stead focus on the details of the galaxies.

Holy Cow!

I think that must be the best "Chain" that I have ever seen... by far!

Wonderful result! I love the detail and the processing.

Thanks, Andy! I usually shoot more nebulous stuff, so I was worried my galaxy-processing went too far on dynamic compression, so I'm very glad you like the processing.

Best regards,

Ginge

I like the crisp detail. The epsilon is such a good scope, I have the 130 and I'm just about to get the 180.

Cool! You've made a good choice. If your buying second hand make sure to check the draw tube in the focuser for flexing. This is the weak spot, at least on older models like mine and f/2.8 is totally unforgiving. I'm going to install a new focuser when the imaging season ends. Hope it will work out all right.

Looked through your Flickr-album BTW. Impressive stuff!!

Thanks and likewise!

I think I will be getting a brand new one, unless a good one comes up used in the near future.

This area of the sky has been on my "to-do" list for quite a while and seeing this image makes me want to do it even more but I know that I won't be able to get anything half as good as this.

Thanks Stuart! From looking at your previous work, I'd bet against your pessimism any time. Your other stuff is stunningly and consistently nice.
