Dark Blue is a great colour for observatory walls. I couldn't help myself and just went traditional black, with charcoal marine carpet on the floor.

Amazing - I'm guessing great skies...

Well, the color is going to be blue... Already 2/3 of the way through painting the wall boards.

That really looks like Meade Blue to me lol.gif
That is the color I used being it is the Inside Color of TI's Home Domes as well.

Hi. My wife painted the inside a bright purple colour. Doesn't matter to me . When it's dark I can't see it and I don't spend hardly any time in there anyway . Not that keen on the colour myself,  if it had been up to me  it would have been blue and not so bright.

It's our agreement, I build stuff and she paints it.

An old tip from farmers: blue color keeps flies away.

Arne

Blue actually attracts deer flies, and they are impervious to insect and bug repellents.

I'm nearing completion of my observatory annex housing an ExploraDome on a 10x10 wooden structure. I'll be installing pre-primed wooden boards for the interior siding.

Question: what is a good color?  I'm thinking a dark, flat blue paint.  Any comments or other suggestions?

Marty

Mine is a slightly smaller building than yours and is an ROR, so to minimise reflections and stray light I lined the walls and floor with black interlocking exercise matting.

WoW!!! So many opinions !!!! I as well am in the process of selecting a color for the interior of my observatory project. The interior both in the telescope room and the control room walls and ceiling will be lined with luan and taped joints. My floor in already glossed black over plywood and will remain as. Blue seem's to be the most popular color and I seem to agree. Now if any of you would know what are the colors in a navy ship's war room, I would appreciate a response. Seem they (navy) would know !!!

My Combat Information Center (CIC) was gray, like most everything else on the ship.
