We got very lucky. The first new scope we've bought in several years. Found the skywatcher 8" dob in stock at B&H..Called to confirm and then ordered. Got it the same week.. must have gotten the last one they had because it was marked backordered right after I bought it online..
I was worried because it was a gift for my boy and the lead times I was lookig at were months long. Where I live theres practically no used scopes. No astronomy clubs etc so online is all we have

thanks I appreciate it. Ive only ever owned a couple small refractors so the 8" Dob is a big upgrade. I just ordered a zelrad and a zoom eyepiece for it. trying to make it easier on my son and wife to enjoy it(myself too,LOL) My wife and son saw M42 for the first time last nght. Pretty awsome.

Scope: Apertura AD12

<...snip...>

Last week they told me they would be receiving the shipment for the 12s this week and today they charged my card so I assume I'm getting a tracking number soon. I'll be glued to the USPS website for the next week or two here.

My card was also charged yesterday. Considering the last email 5 days ago that said they still didn’t have an eta for mine, I called. The rep confirmed I should be receiving a shipping notice in a day or two.

Scope:  Apertura AD8

Supplier:  High Point Scientific

Order date:  January 9 2021

Receive date:  March 30 2021

Did it come earlier or later than you expected?   It arrived right about the time they said it would.

Notes/comments:  Before ordering, I asked about wait time.  They told me that I should expect to receive it late March or early April.

Happy to finally make this post.

Scope: Apertura AD12

Order Date: 12/31/20

Receive Date: 4/2/21

Because I was told when I ordered it could be months, and then got an email update saying April, I'd consider that they were right on with their estimates.

I would like to buy the Orion XX14g from Orions website, but I only buy if it is in stock. Currently it says 04/09/21.
