The Astronomical Society of South Australia held its first Online Star Party on the weekend just past. The event was designed to engage the public and included near real-time imaging using EAA techniques to display a wide variety of celestial objects spanning the life cycle of stars over ever increasing distances.

 

A total of 6 telescopes spread out across southern Australia were operated by ASSA members to support the live stream event. The feedback from the public was overwhelmingly positive. The information is being shared here to encourage other astronomy clubs who may wish to do adopt this style of public engagement.

Thanks for posting this       enjoyable for sure and   with all the stuff on the tube and all the online work    it was nice to find something like this  to watch   and enjoy  and the fact that it is recorded and available on you tube means   one can watch a bit   and come back later and watch the rest. Iam going to pop back on later to watch some more.   There should be more of this out there and from other places on our planet. More folks need to know this is available in my view.

 

 

Would love to travel there someday.  My wife is on board with the idea.
