I'm new to astro and would be interested in hanging out with some fellow West Michiganders.  Don't get me wrong, standing in a remote parking lot alone at midnight when it's 3 degrees F is exhilarating, but it would be fun to do it with a fellow nerd as well.  Also interested in swapping good dark sky spots.

I'm in Benton Harbor. I mostly go south of LaPorte Indiana where I have a friend that enjoys observing as well and the sky is a bit darker. I'm nearing the point of being set to go portable with an astrophotography setup. Once club not mentioned above is the Michiana Astronomical Society http://www.michiana-astro.org . Also, Dr. T.K. Lawless County Park is a Dark Sky site in Cass County, MI.

I used to be from there but am now on the far side of Chicago.  Drag the scope with me when I come back to visit.  Dad's farm just north of town is as dark as pretty much anyplace in my current state.
