Heya,

 

Following up with another attempt with high saturated lunar panels, going for that caramel/brown and deep blue stuff, I personally like that particular mix for color.

 

C8 Edge + 0.7x Reducer (F7) with ASI224MC + Astronomik UV/IR (L) filter

150 FPS for 120 seconds, kept best 601 frames per panel

Each panel is a mosaic of 2 to 3 panels

Wow, I really love your work on these! I have the same scope, and you've convinced me I need a 224MC.  

 

I'm a former geologist, and the colors tell such a story about the creation and modification of lunar landscapes so long ago.

Before getting a 224MC, consider its a tiny sensor. The above images are mosaics at F7 with the edge reducer, because its such a small FOV with that tiny sensor (so they're very undersampled).

 

I've been testing and doing workflow with the 224MC as its the only color sensor I have and mono+RGB filters just don't accomplish the same thing at all sadly. At this point I'm happy to get a new, larger sensor with smaller pixels to sample better and get a wider FOV.

 

I'm going to be looking to add around a 1" class color sensor at this point for this as I move forward (probably an IMX183 cooled color, so it can double duty for DSO).
