It would figure that the first clear sky night without clouds would have a waxing gibbous moon in it! So I just embraced it.

I've been grappling with the magenta cast in my image for several days now. And seeing borodog's spectacular color balance from the 25th made me take a step back.
See, I used my Fotodiox 2× teleconverter for the capture. It does great for luminosity, but the color is a bit off (compared to my Mak, and certainly compared to my SCT). So I decided to manipulate the unstretched color balance a little more and apply it as a color layer. I was much happier with the results:

Good rusty tones! It felt a little garish at first, but it's growing on me. At full size, the Lassell crater complex sticks out like a sore thumb!
