I used to have a Z130.  I added a 6x30 RA finder in between the RDF and focuser by drilling a couple of small holes.  You can use a double (or triple) bracket but that adds more weight and you may end up needing counterweights.

You can either have the dual finder shoes at angles, like in posts #2 and #3, or straight across like this:

I use this one from Scopestuff because I have a Telrad on it.

Telrad's, rigel quickfinder and I believe most RDF's are attached by double sided tape. A finder scope requires a mounting shoe that must be screwed fast to the OTA which will require some holes to be drilled.

Have a look at this thread - https://www.cloudyni...ng-rdf-to-raci/

You can mount the optical tube on the dovetail base andd RDf is pretty light and you can use double sided padded sticky pads and a nylon tie to mount RDF on the optical finder mount.

I just use duct tape to attach my Telrads (I have 2) to both my CPC 800 and Meade NG 125. This leaves the finder shoes free on my both scopes.

Thanks everyone, will probably just put the optical on the bracker and the rdf with strong tape or soemthing of the like, if not will look into the dual bracket option

I have 2 XT8's, one has the dual bracket with a 9x50 & Telrad. On the other one I just mounted a small RDF on the 9x50 bracket with 2 sided tape. I actual prefer that setup. It's lighter so it doesn't throw the balance of the scope off and I don't worry about hitting the finder when carrying it through a doorway. I usually remove the dual bracket with the Telrad because it sticks out so far. Part of the issue is the large size of the Telrad.
