I live in Hampton Roads Va. Anyone know of some decent places to observe that are relatively close. I am very much a newbie, but I don't want to drive 3 or 4 hours to find a good place. Thanks in advance.

cleardarksky.com is a great tool that gives a lot of accurate data such as cloud cover, temps, humidity, and seeing for a given location, and the website also has a light pollution map that you can use to find some dark locations near you.
