Throwing my 2 cents in:
There are other calculators out there - but personally I found this kind of thing invaluable when looking at possible scope purchases (especially if you own or borrow one already):

Then you can translate the focal tables from what you are used to what you want.
For me personally - anything slower that F12.5 is too narrow. The F11.8 maybe too narrow for you too. (been said many times above too)
