Hello, 

 

I tried to use my ASI071 for the first time yesterday. This is my first time with a non-DSLR so I'm an absolute beginner.

 

Equipment used was: ASI071- Pro, Orion ED80, Optolong L-extreme, Astrophotography tool.

 

When taking long exposures (60+ seconds) I get a chess pattern on the photo. I tried to modify a few parameters and seems that increasing the bin reduced this pattern. From what I read in this forum I should only be using larger Bin settings during focusing and framing, so I am wondering what am I doing wrong if keeping the Bin to 1x1.

Have you tried to open one of your subs in a different application?  To figure out if this is real or just the way APT is presenting it?
