Got this DVD in case with documentation recently: "MPO Software An Overnight Success" disc dated 1996-2008. Appears to have four programs, not really sure what they are all for, way too complex for this simple visual observer.

I see the company has a website here but the date looks to be current, stating "An MPO2019 update is available". And they are downloads, no DVD available.

My question is does the content of this DVD have any current relevance?

Thanks

From that web site... "Download the MPO Canopus/PhotoRed User's Guide (PDF), which takes you through the step-by-step process of performing astrometry and photometry in MPO Canopus/PhotoRed."

Looks like the software is for asteroid astrometry and photometry.

MPO Canopus is a pretty high end photometry program. It has a tool to make asteroid light curves which is pretty much the standard tool in this field.
