Hello I made a stupid mistake and tried to do a firmware update using the wrong cable and suspect i damaged the main board or the mc board on my nexstar gps.

Would anyone happen to have a source for parts for this scope.

Thanks

scott.

Still available (see here), but be sure that is indeed the issue before spending the $$$$

What kind of errors?  Symptoms?
Updates to firmware using the wrong method on older mounts are often recoverable.
Especially the common 16/17 error codes.

Have you read up on this on Michael Swanson's site?

Hi Scott,

Specifically, in my "how to" article, you many have fallen victim to the bug I explain in the paragraph that starts "WARNING":

https://www.nexstars...pgradeHowTo.htm

(this is the same link MikeBY provided above but a space in his hyperlink causes a "not found" error)

But, per our direct messages, I don't think that is the cause of your issues so hopefully someone will have some spare boards available for you.

A little earlier today, in this post:

https://www.cloudyni...are/?p=10958152

I outlined how one could probably eliminate the serial/main board entirely; though it isn't for the faint of heart.

Best regards,
Mike Swanson
