Hello

 

I obtained used a SV M2 mount and was looking at an AstroDevices encoder installation kit.

However my mount has what I believe are plastic end covers with slight indentations, not metal.

No writing at all. It has two hex head button top screws, not 4 as shown in the AstroDevices PDF. 

I was wondering if anyone knows if the AD encoder kit will still fit?

You may need to post a picture. I didn't think that any of the M2 mounts came from Stellarvue with plastic sides (if that is what you have). The Astro Devices kits, however, do replace some of the panels with plastic (back for the wire sockets and front if you buy the shelf).

Ok here's what it looks like.  Alas I may be skewered by grub (set ) screws. I've stripped two trying to get them out for a look see inside.

Ooh. Yeah. I'm starting to remember that the older M2 mounts weren't quite so covered in writing as the current ones. It might be worth a note to Stellarvue on Monday and see if they can ID it as from the first or second run. Sorry I don't have anything better.

Guess I'll wind up drilling out the grub screw ...
