While doing some solar visual today, was playing around with my mobile (cell) phone and took a few shots hand held to a baader zoom eyepiece on the 8mm setting through a Lunt LS100 SS. Only processing is to B&W from original colour, and some contrast adjustment, wasn't expecting much, better than I thought it would turn out. This was through high wispy cloud.

Wow...amazing what’s capable from today’s cell phones. My first camera/phone had 2MP and Carl Zeiss optics.  I thought it was the finest camera ever....ain’t technology great

Just curious , what phone did you get this with and , just hand held , no cell phone adapter? 
‘That’s the best cell phone shot I’ve seen.

Ive been successful with hand held pics thru binoculars for terrestrial shots but not for solar thru the scope.

Thanks. This was through a Google cell phone, no adapter just held to the zoom eyepiece, no tracking mount. I took about 15 shots and picked the best out of the bunch. I tried different magnifications, best was with higher power.

This was one of the originals off the phone, no processing, just resized for forum.

Well done! Quite amazing what you have captured. My first ever shot was hand held in June last year through my Samsung S9 but yours has come up so much better.  For me, Qld summer and clear morning skies have not been a good mix in the last few weeks.

Thanks Peter, we've had a couple of decent days but nights have been crap. We're in for another wet week now.
