Hi,

I was just wondering if any of you have any recommendations on automating the focus on the AT65EDQ? I don’t really want to buy a new focuser just automate the existing focuser.  An obvious choice is the ZWO EAF, but looking more closely it requires modification of the mounting bracket. The other one I see in the same price range is the Pegasus Astro Focus Cube 2. Looks similar in how it mounts. Any advice in choices or how to mount them would be very much appreciated.

You may want to look at the Primaluce... https://primalucelab...ing-motor.html/

You may need one of their adapters depending on the diameter of the focuser connection point.

How is the focuser treating you?

Hi Miguel,

Believe it or not my first chance to use it will be this upcoming Fri/Sat. Was going to message you once I had some images :) Thanks again for getting my telescope back on the sky! I’ll look at the Primaluce Lab link.

I have a Rigelsys unit on my AT65EDQ and it works great.

Are those the 4 screws that hold the pinion gear to the rack gear on the drawtube? Would you happen to know the size of the screws?

Yes, those are the ones.  25mm provides enough length to include a lock washer and cover washer.  Regards,  Tom

Thanks for all the feedback, I have ordered the ZWO EAF. It’s on backorder of course, but I’m hoping to have it in early April.
