I have the pleasure of owning two 60mm Montgomery Ward refractors. Can anyone tell me what company manufactured these scopes in the 1970's?

Tom,

From what I have been able to tell, the Monkey Wards scopes are the same as Sears scopes, and I have yet to positively identify who made Sears scopes. Lenny might be able to help us out here.

I know they were identical, from the same source, to the better Tascos of the time, for instance the fabulous 60/1000mm equatorial, a true classic.
