I've been thinking of getting this case to use with my Standard, mainly to keep from scuffing my vinyl case.

"Questar 3.5 Standard"...in his signature.

I'm a huge Pelican supporter, from protective cases, coolers, mugs, you name it...I don't think you can go wrong with any of their products. I've been using their stuff for at least 15 years, and have never had a problem with any of it!
I see in your sig that you have a TAK FS-102... I just purchased the same recently (my first TAK) and will be looking to probably pick up a Pelican for it soon (1740 I think).
Good luck with whatever you decide on.

Good luck with your Tak. Excellent refractor.
I had a Tenba soft (or semi-rigid) case for it, but I decided to spring for a hard case from Leaf Custom Cases.

Isn't there a pelican1507A case designed for a standard looking for a home? I thought RMay had an extra case looking for a home.

On second thought, the 1525 isn't going to work. The base of the Questar Standard is 7 inches. The case is 6.8".

The 1507 looks ideal. Thanks.

I find Apache cases about equal to the Pelican at a much more attractive price.

I have a few Apache cases; unfortunately not the right dimensions for the Questar Standard.

Cut a slot in the case! Easy peesy.

I guess that would be easier than sawing a section out of the base.

The pelican 1550 has almost 8” of interior depth and accommodates the Questar, accessories, and a camera nicely cushioned. It is a little over the airline carry on size, but I’ve never been called on it.
