There's a lot wrong with this image that I won't go into now, but enough right with it to post. I like the camera.

CDK17 + QHY600M, 30 minutes per RGB channel, 5 minute subs binned 2X2

Looks like a pretty good image to me!

  • Black is smooth and not too black or grey.
  • Stars are round enough, a tiny bit soft, but nice.
  • You captured some nice wavy detail in the 'eyelid'.

The only thing I can see is that you need more data. Maybe a tiny bit of sharpening, but otherwise, I can see why you're proud to post. Nice work!

Wow Steve this looks great!  Got to love that QHY600m.  I just received my first mono camera.. A QHY 268m.  After looking at your images I can't wait to get this beast going!  All the best, Scott

Initially the filter wheel was stuck on Lum and all Flats were Lum flats (long story, don't ask). I realized this and collect the "proper color" data to make the image above, but the "Lum Flats" were used. I am in the process of fixing things with the proper flat data.

This is the image with proper flats and an hour of LRGB data per channel.
