Hi all,

In my never ending struggle against the LP from my balcony I decided

to try and add another 7 hours of integration to my 1st run image.

Unfortunately the seeing was quit bad and also some overcast and a

sporadic cloud ( as seen in the guidelog ) spoiled the quality a bit.

Evenso I integrated all the frames from 040421  and 040721 for a

total of nearly 14 hours of integration.

I didn't use noise reduction to preserve some of the fainter outer arms of

the main object but evenso, they still don't stand out well.

Maybe I'm just running up against the limits what's possible from here

with my equipment or have to keep on adding cool.gif

Details:  417 frames of 120 seconds, NINA in charge of everything and

preprocessed in APP and finished in Pixinsight.

Still not up to par with my processing, but here goes.

( for full res: http://lammertus.epi...on-UVIR-web.jpg)

Stay well,

Mert

wow! 14 hours of integration. Thats a lot. I think its a great image. And with a six inch. Amazing. I think I have to rethink my wish of great photos with only twenty to thirty mins exposure. ..I'm lazy it seems ;)..:)

Hi Mert- that is getting much better. There appears to be far less noise- send me that master and I will see if I can get aligned with my LUM master- it might be a bit easier with a better less noisy image.

There are no limits- just time- keep at it- If I would have had the weather last night I would have put another 7 hours into my data as well- sadly I have clouds for a few days on the predicted forecast.

Mert, this looks great! Detail is definitely there. Looks like a color correction/balance issue.

From a Bortle 7-9 Sky this target needs 30-40 hours in the L channel alone on anything other than a really big fast telescope- the arms are very faint- Hubble makes everything look easy.

Hi Ziggeman,

I'm glad you like the image,
which is taken with an RC8 and ASI1600MCC.

Hi Mark,

Yes it seems to get better so likely if weather clears up I'll continue to add.
I was lucky because when I woke up the sky was ink black!
I'll drop you a link lateron waytogo.gif

Here is the master, did lp removal in APP: https://www.dropbox....c-cbg.fits?dl=0

Hi Lead-weight,

I'm glad you like it!
Could you please expand a bit on the color correction/balance?
Hope to improve my processing skills :waytogo:

Thanks Peter,

Hope to make it look better processing but likely not much more that I can do.

Except for adding more hours ( much more ) to it.

Right now I'm trying to make the background look better.

Stay well,

Mert

Looking good Mert! You're a better purist than I am with staying away from noise reduction. wink.gif

Hi Scott, thanks!

I'm busy with a version 2 to get the background better.
On this version 2 I did noise reduction with EZ denoise.
Will post that version later on or tomorrow.

Yeah, It's got a blue tint to it. Photometric Color Calibration should do the trick.

Oh well, let's see if I can use that since at first it all went green with

PCC.

I am finishing a second version of the processing working on the

background, looks like it has color blotches.

Anyway, this was taken from the balcony with quit some LP so

this is likely the best I can do with it until I gather more integration

time for it. ( hope to get > 30 hours as was suggested )

Tomorrow I will post V2 here and hope you give it a look

and let me know!

How does this version look? I tried to get some more faint details

and did noise reduction with EZ denoise.

Just for fun I reprocessed from scratch, this time with PCC

and many other tricks.

This version is a smaller crop to get rid of some of these

ugly gradients I had to work with.

Always learning more things.

Thanks John,

I will certainly add much more time to this object hoping to

be able to reveal more of the faint structure.
