The Astronomical Society of Kansas City used an Apogee ap8p camera for several years to do asteroid follow up and discovery for several years. The camera was purchased with a NASA grant and allowed our little observatory (649) to be the number 2 asteroid tracking station in the world. We were out performed by Linear. Shortly after the minor planet center hired our best observer a lightning strike fried our telescope controls and computers. The camera was not installed on the telescope at the time of the disaster but we never resumed asteroid tracking. The camera has been sitting in a cabinet ever since. Does anyone know if anyplace would have a use for this camera? It's a cooled 8 megapixel with a parallel port and is well suited for sky survey or magnitude determinations but not so much for pretty pictures.
