Tonight, April 12th, is Yuri's Night.  For space nerds everywhere, this is a chance to celebrate the Space Age ... and the day a human being first launched into orbit, which happened exactly sixty years ago today.

 

Most of us are all still stuck on Earth, in front of our computers. So my contribution is a sneak peek at the interactive web planetarium and space simulator that I and a few others have been developing in our spare time since the pandemic lockdown started.

 

This is NOT SkySafari.  This is all new code that we've written since Yuri's Night a year ago.  It's meant to be poked at and played with.  This web preview will only be online for one day - Yuri's Day - today.
