Can you tell me what the bolt pattern is on the top of the tripod?  I am trying to get a pier fabricated, but the scope is currently unavailable.  Is it the same pattern as the classic C11 wedge?

Thanks.

It's the same wedge and tripod as the C11.

We are building a pier for the fork mount using 6 inch schedule 40 steel pipe.

It's the same wedge and tripod as the C11.

I need the center to center distance on the 3/8-16 bolt holes on the top of the tripod, please.  TIA.

I get 5.25” inches hole center to center on my C11 locked triangle tripod.

Dave, are you measuring directly across, on the six holes, so the bolt circle is 5.25 inches?

Straight line distance between each of the three mounting holes, not diameter.  Not the center hole .

Wow.  There must be two different tripod patterns.  The one I am looking for is the ancient one for rhe C14/11 wedge.  I previously found this:

His distance was 4.4375 inches.  So, circle of 5.125 inches.

That link is for what I think is a newer style wedge that probably shares the C8 hole pattern.   But I really don’t know from my sample of 1 early 1980s orange tube whether it would be same as yours or not.

I think the HD locked triangle tripods are the same for the older wedge mounted C11 and C14.  The link may have been for the newer "Pro Wedge" bolt pattern.

Does anyone else have an old C14 locked triangle tripod to get a measurement from? Or an old C14 wedge you can get a center to center hole measurement on?  Dave's measurement was 5.25 inches.  I think maybe they are all the same, but need confirmation if possible.  Not drilling any holes in the field until I see the actual wedge, but making a template in my little shop if possible.

I measured my 1980s C14 wedge.

The holes are 5/16” diameter.

The distance from the outer edge of the 1st hole to the other hole’s outer edge is 5 9/16”.

5 9/16” - 5/16” diameter hole = 5 1/4” (centre to centre)

This confirms Dave’s measurement of 5.25”.

Thanks very much.  That gives a bolt circle diameter of 6.062 inches.  The old manual I found said the bolts holding wedge to tripod are 3/8 inch, 16 tpi.

My template worked.  5.25 inches exactly..  The C14 wedge fit perfectly.  Thanks.
