Can anyone lend their opinions on these two scopes with respect to visual and photographic ability. I'll be getting one of these here in a few weeks and I'm leaning towards the Meade, but I want some outside opinions. Thanks

Hi, Matt.

They are pretty similar in capabilities. If you are considering film or large-chip DSLR imaging the Celestron will have a slightly flatter field. Meade's wedge is sturdier and easier to adjust. The Celestron is easier to transport and set up. The Meade has a more powerful controller. The Celestron has a two year warranty BUT they have recently revised their warranty to specify that the purchaser pays shipping BOTH WAYS for warranty repairs.

Flip a coin!
