No, seriously, remain gentlemen and likable ladies, but compete fairly to get that prize, a 130mm Ortho Apo Takahashi triplet sold for 1.000£ less than the regular price, in new condition.

For some reason the new Rother Valley Optics YouTube channel showed up on my home page, which reminded me I saw some interesting items in their site, but I had overlooked RVO for a long time. So I looked up a bit, inquiring about 115mm asian triplets, and this thing costing five times more than my budget appeared. Quite a bargain for those who can afford it.

If I understood well, this is the absolute flattest, most corrected lens telescope ever in that diameter. Rohr tested one and found less than 60µ longitudinal chromatic spread; 150µ is good, 40µ or less is outstanding and impossible to see visually. He measured a 0.99 Strehl factor, and get this, almost 1/12th wave peak-to-valley figuring and almost 1/80th wave (yes, that's not a typo!) RMS polishing, right up there with science-grade optics.

It's on the wrong side of planet Earth for me, but it would surely make for a nice partner for my TOA......   (Another Tak binoscopecool.gif )

A bit big I think Matt, given that you said your TSA120 bino was too big...  ;)

hmm...that's about 10k USD

You could buy a new one for 5.8k USD here:

Or 7k from Takahashi America.

Am I missing something here?

Well...do what seems to be fashionable at CN - offer more than the asking price. That ensures one gets the gilded calf above all others.

£6999 for a 130mm. With a Tak ring cradle I would not use & straight through finder scope I would not use. Still costs too much.

How about a Lamborghini for $80 000 less the regular price? Lol

I cannot still afford the scope

Thanks but no thanks.

That site is a great find, thanks for posting it.  They have a few Taks in stock, including a TOA-130NS (retractable dew shield, 2.7" focuser) for $4995 including shipping to the US and paypal fees.  I just ordered a FS-60CB for $700 including shipping.
