'm not sure that the C14 is pre-Fastar.  Fastar was introduced during the period of black tubes (mine is one of the early ones, before they had the sticker on the secondary cell). The gray tube would make it a more recent model, unless it had the tube replaced. If that's the case, there is a risk that it's from Celestron's low period after Halley. They changed the corrector manufacturing process and made some effort to improve quality control when Fastar was introduced.

Looks to be made around 2004 during the gray tube days.

What probably happened was the seller edited the listing. The listing "goes dark" until a moderator reapproves it.

Nice looking Comet Catcher in Kansas City for $200, with 3 eyepieces, 26 silvertop, 18 mm, and 5mm. And a barlow. The corrector will need cleaning.   Are the correctors on those uncoated?

The ad states that it was sent in to Starizona(Tucson,AZ) to have the Hyperstar(Faster) conversion done.

Yes, I saw that. But it also says it is pre-Fastar. Fastar C14s began appearing in 1998, and were in the black tube period. The gray tubes came later. Fastar compatibility became an option sometime after 2000. So either this is not pre-Fastar, and is a more recent OTA with a Starizona conversion, or if it really is pre-Fastar, then the tube was also replaced with one of the newer color ones.

If it's the former, which is more likely, then it's not a classic. If it's the latter, then one would have to wonder if the black tube was replaced due to damage. Either way, I was intending to alert anyone interested in it as a classic, that they should ask some clarifying questions of the seller.

That is a Swift 831! 77mm x 1000mm lens.   To anyone, do not delay, it will not last long.  That is an excellent price.  (wow, after 3 days it is still there?)

Vintage Fisher Price Telescope - $30 (CL in Barre VT)

Not a real telescope of course, but so darned cute.  If you squint it looks like it could be an Edmund Scientific mini-refractor.  I bet somebody here has one sittiing on a shelf at home!
