For the life of me, I cannot figure how to connect the 8SE mount.  I’ve removed the standard controller, but cannot insert the StarSense HC.  Any advice would be helpful.

The SSA HC goes on the side (there's a port) and the Cable for the Camera goes in the "Aux" Port.

The side Port can be tricky to get any cable in as you need to have it flush (lined up perfectly).

I find that gentle direction with a small pair of bent-nose pliers helps a lot.

Pre-bending the HC wire help to align for connection. (I have NO IDEA who designed this plug/port location, but it fails dismally.)

I also sometimes use forceps to hold the wire/RJ in the proper position.

You can also get the proper splitter and use the AUX port on the base and still have enough ports. They daisy chain so you can add another splitter if needed.

Needle nose pliers or bent nose pliers, as mentioned above, should do the trick just fine. I had no issues with mine.

Hey, I’m going with the daisy chain solution. I tried to use pliers and still couldn’t connect the cable. What horrible engineering.

That port was cause for many explicatives in my case. I ended up installing a homebrew version of an Aux splitter in there and have never take it out. I never liked putting the HC in that side mount anyway as it cause too much vibration.
