There is this little conundrum.

First Light Optics gives the thread size of the adapter it sells as M45.4 while Agena Astro gives it as M44.5. They can't both be correct.

I want to assume that First Light Optics made a typo as maks male thread are usually M44.5. I hope I am correct here or did something change overnight while I was under the stars?

Links please. Adapters for what scope ?

I've seen adapters for probably every thread size from 38 to 68 in 0.5mm increments, in one place or another.

And the thread pitch matters - some are M0.75, while others are M1.0 or even M1.25.

It is the adapter that enables you use SCT and 2" accessories on a mak. I am guessing that FLO mistakenly swapped the 4 and 5. It should be M44.5 x 1

+1. I have the ScopeStuff adapter for my SW102Mak, which fits fine. I believe that is the correct number for that scope.

I asked one of the sellers about two months ago why they don't make it, I just received a message that they now have it in stock.

That does sound cheap compared with the alternatives. If you order it, let us know how it works out.

I have already.
I see no reason such a small adapter should be $30 in the first place. This happens a lot in this industry.

I bought one of these, and unless I was just unlucky, there is a good reason these are cheap - quality (lack of). The thread had several dings and scrapes on the threads, and they seemed to be on the ragged edge of dimensional tolerance. The one I already had (£35) fits all the visual backs I own. The new one will only fit one of them - the others it gets on about 1 turn, then jams solid. Having said that I am aware from the feedback comments that FLO have had several of theirs returned for tolerancing issues. It's a lot easier to get a replacement from a local firm than from China on 2 month delivery though!

That's unfortunate. I have had zero problems with the adapter I bought from ScopeStuff, which was a bit more expensive than the ones for sale elsewhere on the web.

I have one from Agena that works just great. Allows me to use SCT components on my new style C90.

I think the problem was with the measurement they used. Instead of practically measuring on the scope, the seller lifted dimensions off the web. If you check, it is now unavailable on the site as the seller said he wants to have a proper measurement and make fresh ones. The one I got also didn't fit but the seller has refunded me. It is just $5.

The seller has finally made one with the perfect measurement. I got one already and it fits my Maks.

I guess.
As far as risks are concerned, $5 is nothing in this hobby. Especially, when the competition is 6 times that amount.
