Please forgive me but here is another attempt to post a pic of my venerable RV-6.

Geeze after about 5 tries I finally got the right size settings. For what its worth this is me and my trusty 1961 RV-6 viewing a partial eclipse in the early 70's. You'd be surprised to see how large sunspots are with this type of projection.

Yes I do. I've had to do minor restoration...mainly just paint the mount and repair the clutch otherwise I've done little to it. I marvel at its optics everytime I use it even tho the coatings are about 20 years old. Lots of viewing hours thru this scope.

Hi Bonco,
She sure is a beauty of a scope! Wow, that pic was 1970's huh? Hey was that by chance the partial solar eclipse of March 7, 1970 ? If it was, I have a string of shots I did with a old Kodak Pony 135 camera and Tri-X film using eyepiece projection with my 3 inch Sear refractor back then!
Man, seeing this pic, I ought to get mine out and start a thread on old times!! Whaddya think?

The partial eclipse was on 13 Dec 74 and the pic taken at Fort Sill Okla.

Excellent photo. I just purchased an RV-6 myself. Only came with one eyepeice but everything else is there and mint. Cost me $100.00 but I think it's going to be a very sound investment. I can't wait to get this beauty out under the night sky.

Daren,
Good price let us know how it performs. The mount takes some patience to operate but if you have original optics it should perform beautifully.
