Hi all

I have a question about astrotortilla/cygwin setup

I downloaded and installed astrotortilla with no problems. when I attempted to install cygwin  I got to the point in setup, choose a download site, the following url was highlighted , http://astrotortilla.kunts.com so I clicked ok and when I do I get an error message, "unable to get setup " <http://astrotortilla.kunts.com" I'm stuck it will not go any further I don't know what I did wrong please help ! My computer is new and I only us it for my EAA setup and I have plenty of hard drive space left.

Don't know where you got that URL from but it is not a valid mirror server for Cygwin.  It frankly looks rather dodgy. Get your Cygwin directly from the source:

https://cygwin.com/install.html

Regards,

Tom

The Cygwin installer downloaded from the cygwin.com does NOT have kunts.com listed as a mirror site.  As I said earlier, downloading the Cygwin installer from cygwin.com will ensure you are getting a legitimate piece of software

Consider installing ANSVR.  Both AstroTortilla and ANSVR use Cygwin and unless things have changed recently the ANSVR Cygwin load is much newer.  There is a note on the AT site's FAQ to use ANSVR instead for this reason.  ( Note ANSVR's install directory for later.

Once both are installed start AT.  When it is running look for the Cygwin shell line and change AT's  to ANSVR's Cygwin shell directory.  Mine is:   C:\Users\sboer\AppData\Local\cygwin_ansvr\bin\bash.exe --login -c "%s"
