Hi....
Where can I find out any info on a Leitz binocular microscope with a model #724049 ? Not sure if that's the actual model, it was the only number I found on it.
It looks like a pretty nice one.
I already have a Celestron binocular microscope and found this older German guy but haven't a clue to it's pedigree.
Thanks, Gerry

If you can include a photo, that would be greatly helpful.  If no photo, then more details, such as:  any wording/lettering, color(s) scheme, objectives, etc.

Otherwise, if you're ready to start checking manuals, here's my own preferred starting point:

Best wishes and luck!

Dan.....thanks for responding to my post.  I believe that number is just a serial #.

Here's some images.

It looks like an SM model (SM-M? SM-D?), but the stage is "throwing" me a little (size & design).  It may be from another (or later) model.

Serial number does suggest late-'60s manufacture (~1968-1969).

Perhaps someone more familiar/insightful will chime in...

-A good-looking Leitz, nonetheless. waytogo.gif

Best wishes.

Dan

It came with lots of other stuff too.  A dark field condenser, I think that's what it called. Possibly a camera attachment, another set of 10x eyepieces with NF stamped after the 10x, (ones in the scope say 10x B), a set of 6x eyepieces, one item looks like it goes in where eyepieces go and stamped on it is Periplan 10x then what looks like a pair if glasses them letter M, one that says Digital Adapter, one thats heavy and has two knobs/arms and has a "fish bowl" very deep concave lens and looks like it attaches somewhere in the optical path. I will post some images.

Oh, the one that looks like a camera attachment (has the adapter to attach camera body) says NDPL-1 (2x). Comes in two parts.
