For a 4inch f7 doublet refractor, for visual, which is recommended, the skywatcher az eq5 or vixen sx2?

Thanks.

My vote would be for the SX2. I've had an original Sphinx SXW for years and it has been reliable and accurate and from what I understand the Satrbook 10 is much more capable than the original Starbook like mine

I have the AZ - EQ 5.  Use it for DSO stuff.  Goto stuff is great.  May be more than you need though.

SX2 for me, quite reliable and very easy to use with starbook 10. I use it for visual and imaging.

Starbook Ten is the very best Goto system for visual.  Its pointing accuracy is one of the best from a stand-alone unit (if not the best).

I can recommend an SX2 as a very nice mount.  Vixen design, build and finish quality are excellent.  I have two of these puppies and am very satisfied.

If you do not like clutter then starbook 10 is very good, especially for visual use.

The SXD2 will also be a lot quieter than other Far East products.

Having used an ancient Vixen Super Polaris for many years, I would recommend  a new SX2.

I’ve been using a Vixen GP2 for many years and if I ever upgrade, it will be to a SX2 or SXD2. Vixen mounts are very nice.
