I take it as part of the same experience. If the sky is clear and dark, I enjoy naked eye viewing as much as telescopic observation, and alternating is a true pleasure.

Although I used to do more naked eye observing when I had better eyesight, I was out late recently and was struck once again by how rich to the naked eye the Milky Way is towards Sagittarius. It is something I never tire of looking at.
